Jeep has been radically redesigning their vehicles for 2011, and the 2011 Jeep Patriot is no exception. A large number of changes have been made to both the interior and exterior in order to make the 2011 Patriot more sporty, luxurious, high-tech, and performance-oriented. Some things that remain the same from previous Patriot models, however, are the powertrain, transmission, and drive type choices. The 2011 Patriot is powered by either a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder or a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, mated to your choice of either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission. You also have a choice between front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
What has changed on the 2011 Patriot is fairly extensive, more so on the interior and mechanical components than the exterior. Along with new 17-inch wheels and new front and rear fascias, four new color choices are being offered for the exterior. Move inside and the changes are more notable. Many of the surfaces are now padded and feature soft-touch materials for added luxury. Audio, cruise, and Bluetooth controls now come on the new three-spoke steering wheel. The cloth upholstery has also been updated, as has the center armrest design. Meanwhile, mechanical overhauls in the new Patriot are significant, making performance even greater. The suspension now has a thicker rear anti-roll bar and firmer springs and shock absorbers. Furthermore, 2011 Patriots featuring four-wheel-drive have an added one-inch ride-height lift to the suspension. Retuned power-steering assist also features prominently on the new Patriot. Another noteworthy change is that a new trim, Latitude X, has now taken the place of the previously range-topping Limited trim.
