The base AVP trim and the next level SE come standard with a 2.4L DOHC I-4 engine with dual VVT paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, providing 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. Trims SXT through R/T come equipped with a more competent 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick, producing 283 horsepower and 260 pound-feet or torque. AVP and SE trims offer 19/city, 26/hwy mpg. Higher trims offer 17/city and 25/hwy mpg, and also offer an AWD option, which lowers each by one mile.
Additional performance features include standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Electronic Roll Mitigation, Trailer Sway Control, Brake Assist, and all-speed traction control. |

Standard Features & Options
The 2012 Dodge Journey comes offering additional standard and upgradeable features that are a welcome change to the vehicles earlier incarnations. R/T tops off the trims with 19-inch satin-carbon aluminum wheels, exclusive exterior trim upgrades, black leather-trimmed seats with red stitching, and R/T exterior badging.
